Connecting
with other faculty developers
Jump start
your faculty development activities by connecting with folks who have
already traveled the bumpy road of the beginner.
The
TeachingCoach e-mail list
The TeachingCoach
listserv is a place where new faculty developers can ask any kinds of
question they like--without having to worry about whether it might be
a "newbie" question. The list has so far been relatively low-traffic,
but subscribers have shared some real gems.

Faculty
development centers and programs
An established
faculty development center or program can be a rich source of information,
ideas, inspiration and guidance for the new faculty developer. Most
faculty developers are more than willing to help a newcomer avoid the
mistakes they made when they were new to the role.
The
list of faculty development centers
by the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of Kansas is
among the most comprehensive and up-to-date you will find on the web.
Look for
a center at either a comparable or nearby institution, make contact,
and begin your faculty development network!
